Second day of Vaca

Well, it seems that it will be raining all day today. We decided to check out Escanaba. Luck would have it, we ran across this little gem! Swedish Pantry. My grandparents would be proud. Excellent restaurant and Swedish gifts! This was so fun to me! Lucky that Leonard found it!๐Ÿ™‚

Leonard also bought a big cookie
And A big cinnamon roll!!!

I loved seeing the smiley face. I thought the fishing sign was cute. A big mosquito!A place where we attempted to fish a bit. All I caught was getting super wet!

Up North Vacation

We decided to take a few days vacation up North this year. We stopped at Kitchi-ti-kipi springs. A lot of people but worth the wait.

The Mighty Mac!

Our motel was just a little bit further east in Rapid River. A quaint little motel. Sufficient for us.

Love these flowers

Happy Independence Day!

I am thankful for the freedom I have in Christ. I am also thankful that so far, we still have some freedom here in the United States. I do wish we were actually the United. Anyway, I made this for Independence day.

The stripes are a little crooked. I will just say, it’s a bit tattered. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Lucky to Have a Great Day

We went to Ellsworth today and ran into our friend, Margaret. Went to a few garage sales on our way to see our daughter. After arriving at Tina’s, Tina took us and Isaac to a cherry farm near Traverse City. We picked our own cherries, went out for ice cream, drove up the extraordinary scenery to the Old Mission Lighthouse. On the way back we stopped at Cherry Street Market. We are so lucky to have a fun daughter and grandson. I feel blessed that she gave us such a great day!

Glad I’m not Competitive!

About a week ago, my daughter sent me a pic and said, “Look what we did”. Strawberry shortcake! They not only made it, they picked the berries! It looked so scrumptious!

Yummy!

All week long, I thought about Strawberry Shortcake. I went to a few places to get strawberries and they were sold out. Finally, found some at the natural food store! So, I came home and made some for us. I didn’t even think about whipped topping until after I made mine. So, Cool Whip was our topping of choice. (It was partially frozen)

Tasted Great… Looks- not so great

I am lucky that I am not the competitive type as my daughter definitely did a better job than myself on these dessert endeavors. Either way, it cured my craving!

Special

After my Mom passed away, some friends from work got together and gave me a miniature rose plant. Plants are a struggle for me, but I try. This year, it looks pretty great to me. I have been very lucky to have so many friends that I hold dear to my heart. I don’t deserve how blessed I am. ๐Ÿ™‚

Songs

Songs have a way of bringing us joy at times, peace, at others, inspiration, worship…touches our souls.

I’ve often felt extremely lucky and blessed to have the parents that I did. It is hard still, to not have them to go to for guidance or just camaraderie.

My Mother lived an extremely hard life with many scars. I came across this song today and it made me think of her. https://youtu.be/NiJUE9Eii0Q

My Father was very special to me. I had never heard the following song until my brother had asked for it to be played at his funeral. I am lucky also to have the brothers that I do. I cannot hear this song without thinking of my Dad. To remember those special to us is quite the blessing. A gift from God. https://youtu.be/a6_I_Kzb1HE

Today, at church we sang this song. https://youtu.be/oap3t96kKWk it sure blessed my heart.

Being that Leonard and I are the “lucky ones”, we went to “Lucky’s Steakhouse” on Friday. It was so very, very good! Being that they are having difficulty getting people to work, they are a bit short staffed. Even though we had to wait a bit, the staff do a wonderful job. They work so hard.

Fishing

Well, it seems that the โ€œthingโ€ that we do together is fishing. Many a day of fishing results in no dinner for usโ€ฆyet, once in awhile, we get โ€œLUCKY โ€œ ๐Ÿ™‚

Beautiful sunset
He’s excited to be so lucky!
Big ones!
Fifteen in all!

Lucky to have our “baby”!

Due to the business of the past few weeks, I didn’t get a chance to post about my “baby girl”.

I’m so proud of this gal! She’s sweet, intelligent, funny, beautiful and just a pleasure. We celebrated her birthday over a week ago.
