How Lucky to be so Blessed!

If you know me, you know that everything that I do, relates to the heart.

I have been very fortunate (or lucky) to have had many people that have blessed my heart and dear friends that are etched in my heart forever.

I am so proud of my daughter that she persevered in her teaching degree while taking care of a household, husband, son and job. Having to put aside her friends for a time. She is such an inspiring teacher and role model for these precious little ones. Friday, some of her fellow teachers invited her to a get together . I am happy that she can finally resume friendships and have those blessings that I have grown to cherish and I know she will also.

We were lucky enough to hang out with Isaac for the short time that Tina was with her colleagues. Win-win for us!

Silly look, for a fun and silly guy!

On the very same day, my long time friend and sister in Christ gave me such an awesome gift. It blessed my heart and will think of her every time I mix up some yummy treat!

I love this!

One of my coworkers shares my enjoyment of the “Snoopy” gang. She, much more than I. She has shared with me her progress as she and her husband created lawn ornaments for Christmas. I told her that I would check it out once they got the lights on.

They did an awesome job

Yesterday, while finishing up our last minute shopping, we stopped at Wendy’s. A young man that grew up in the Wesleyan church that I attended and was in my Sunday School class was there. He is involved in a ministry of mentoring young men. Teaching them how to study the Word and pray and how to discipline. Meeting them where they are at. What a blessing it was to see him!

God is so good. He makes me feel lucky and blessed so many days. HE is the reason for us being “lucky” and I am so thankful!

Special moments

When I was going into the third grade, I was so upset to start the school year. That particular year, due to overcrowding, all third graders had classes at the Good Will Center which was in a different location from the regular elementary school.

Yet, that year, I met life-long friends. When I was young, with all the responsibilities at home, I was not always able to share times outside of school as the others did. At times, I found this disappointing.

Maybe that’s why I feel grateful and blessed and yes, lucky 🙂 to have these friends. We don’t see each other that often, but when we do, it truly blesses my heart. We are all very different in lifestyle and personality which gives me much delight. I appreciate our differences and I feel thankful for these dear friends that I have known for so many years. Because we are different, it makes conversations interesting and fun. One thing that is different for me, is that they are all retired and I like hearing about what their plans are for the future. Hopefully, I will be there soon.

We have grown older together. How many people can say that? It is these moments that remain in my heart, year after year.

Yesterday, was one of those special days that I had the privilege to see these three amazing women. We share about our children, grandchildren, life changes, ups and downs. Luckily, the restaurant wasn’t busy, which gave us the chance to linger a while in each other’s lives. How did I get so lucky???
